Opening a New Board

Listen below are descriptions for the tools in the FILE menu:

File -> Opens File menu

New -> Open a new board from the drop down menu of stock designs

Open -> Open an existing file that has been saved to your computer 

Open OSX Native -> An alternate file searching folder for Mac users. Use the same way as the Open box

Recent Files -> Search for recently opened CAD files

Board Manager -> The Board Manager is used to organize your catalog of shapes. Use this tool like an open catalog to bounce between files and organize your quiver of designs

Ghost board -> The Ghost Board feature is used to image an existing file over a new file. This tool can be used to compare shapes and blend one design into another

Image board -> Place an existing board image in the background of your design to match an existing outline or profile

To set tail: Hold "t" and click on the tail of the image

To set nose: Hold "n" and click on the nose of the image


Save -> Save your file without renaming

Save and Reload -> Save a version of your design and reload to continue working

Save As -> Save your file by renaming and selecting where to store file at


Make a BRX file -> Encrypt your designs with a password. Send secure files to be cut/reviewed with no access to the design information or the ability to save or alter the design

Print -> 

Print Board Info Page -> Print board information page for managerial purposes

Make PDF -> Generate a board information page that can be sent to customers. Ability to add your logo included 

Print full sized slices -> Print cross section slices 

Print Outline full sized -> Print design outline to template a handshape

Print profile full sized -> Print a cross profile of your design to match the rocker of your blank

Import -> Import an outline, profile, or slice into an existing design. This tool will combine the outline of an existing shape into the design of a new board. Example:

Export -> Export a copy of your outline, profile, or slice. We also offer file export options in STL, OBJ, and PDF format.

Exit -> Close and exit the program
